Being an in-line buggy, the Verve is naturally a single that can easily be converted to a double with the use of a second seat kit. This kind of adaptability makes it ideal for a growing family, and although the initial cost is relatively high, the fact that this buggy could last from the point that your first child is born, right up until your second (or third!) child no longer uses a pushchair, could mean that the Verve is the only buggy you ever need buy.

You can be assured of your child’s comfort as the primary seat on the Verve is an impressively good size. Not only is it particularly wide, but also very tall allowing your child to remain comfortable even as they grow older. Phil and Teds actually state that this could be used for a child up to the age of six – demonstrating the space that your child will have.
The seat reclines to fully flat making it suitable for a newborn and with the adjustment being made by a strap, it can be set to any position until it reaches upright.
In the lie flat position, the rear of the buggy is left open so that the parent can gain direct access to their child. So as to protect your child from the sun and winds, the Verve is supplied with both a net and window that can fill this space and maintain your child’s comfort.
To keep your child securely in their seat, the Verve is equipped with a fully adjustable padded 5 point safety harness, and the addition of a padded bumper bar should give them something to hold or the option of attaching a toy for them should they need it.
As with other buggies in the Phil and Teds range, the Verve is equipped with a ‘follow the sun’ hood that gives your child fantastic protection from direct sunlight. Not only does it have the added benefit of a flip out sun visor, but it also rotates forward in order to protect your child should the sun be at an awkward angle, or to provide good protection from the wind. Conveniently, the sun canopy can slide up the frame to provide some added head room should it be required.
The beauty of in-line buggies is that when a second child comes along, you can quickly transform it in to a double with the simple addition of an extra seat kit. The Verve is no exception here allowing you to accommodate two children in the following ways:
It’s worth noting that the second seat unit also comes with a 5 point safety harness, three stage recline, and has a small sun shade that can provide some protection for your child.
Unusually for in-line buggies, the Verve has the ability to be folded with the second seat attached to the rear.
When a second seat is attached, some in-line buggies have the tendency to tip backwards if the child in the front seat gets out. This is not the case with the Phil and Teds Verve, and it has been specifically certified to carry one child in the back seat without any chance of the buggy tipping.

The large pneumatic rear wheels and the sturdy frame allow the Verve to handle rougher terrain well, so visits to parks and forests are to be very much encouraged.
Phil and Teds have done a good job in ensuring that the parent will be just as comfortable as the kids with this buggy. The padded handle bar can be adjusted to 6 different heights and unusually it also holds the mechanism for the brakes. To lock the rear wheels you simply squeeze the button on the front of the hand brake and to release them again, press the red button on the top.
Compared to other double buggies, the Verve is a very respectable weight, although if you have grown used to a single buggy you may initially find it quite heavy to lift in and out of your car.
The Verve folds very quickly and if the second seat is still attached, this will tuck itself neatly in to the folded unit. To collapse the Verve, simply pull on a lever on each side of the frame and then push down on the handle. The buggy will then fold in half and with a gentle squeeze the whole unit will automatically click shut. Unlike some buggies, the Verve can stand independently when collapsed.
The Verve can be unfolded just as quickly as it is put away. Simply unclip the frame locking mechanism, lift the handle until the buggy locks in to place and you are ready to go.
As a single buggy the Verve is a fantastic shopping buddy. With it’s large, accessible under seat basket you’ll be unlikely to run out of space. However, when the second seat is attached to the rear, be aware that your child’s feet will use much of this space and although you will still be able to store some small items, much of the storage space will made unavailable.
